👷‍♀ What I’ve been working on

Makers Who Blog

I spun up a new directory, Makers Who Blog, to minimize my reliance on social platforms for finding inspiration. I love seeing how other people approach their personal projects, and wanted to connect crafty communities in our own spaces.

I’ll do a more in-depth post about the process—the cross-stitch-inspired pixel art was way too much fun—but for now please do submit your blog if you’re crafting things and writing about it!

Moodboard

I wanted a good excuse to try out Astro, so I whipped up a personal moodboard site the weekend before a trip. So far the site has different boards for media and mood, and pulls images from Cloudinary. I’ll probably add project-specific moodboards as well. I don’t plan to share the site with the public since this is meant for my own reference, but I might abstract the code and make that available if you want your own Pinterest replacement.

So far I’ve really enjoyed playing with Astro! Simple, fun, fast. I love that the localhost port they use is :4321 (space shuttle jokes and all that).

Crafting

Knitted a Jimothy cup cozy
Sewed my third Eucalypt Tank in an “ocean”-colored cotton-linen fabric
Drew some doggos for Doggust

Dropped some $ on yarn at Fiber Flock Festival with two knitting friends 💟
Made peppermint ice cream, my third flavor attempted and Rahul’s (my husband) favorite so far
We took our daughter to the Moomin exhibit at the Nordic Museum, which was her first museum visit. I found Tove Jansson’s life so inspiring; oh to be in love and working on your art by the sea.
